「神業」が成されたのは1994年、金総書記が52歳の時だった。北朝鮮の国営メディアは、金総書記が平壌ゴルフ場（Pyongyang Golf Course）の7700ヤードのコースで1ラウンドのうち合計11ホールでホールインワンを達成したとして称賛した。どのホールも最悪で「バーディー」、スコアは38アンダーの34という驚異的なもので、しかも、金総書記がゴルフコースに出たのはこの時が初めてだったと報じている。
